Whether or not they are willing to do so is another matter...

After making some promises that—let’s be honest—no one with more than two brain cells to rub together believes, Todd Blanche is about to be confirmed as attorney general. The irony is that the party famous for complaining about the political weaponization of the justice system is the one backing him.

I know you guys like to see the process behind the cartoons, so here’s another installment of “How It Was Made.” In this case, rather than parodying it, I took the liberty of “updating” a cartoon by the great Herblock, the legendary cartoonist for The Washington Post. I have studied—and even taught—his work with great admiration. His cartoons said it all. And they still do…
Here is my original doodle in the sketchbook where I scribble (almost) all my ideas…
From there I went to do a more proper digital sketch of it…
From there, I started drawing the final version. Of course, I used Herblock’s original cartoon as a reference, but I drew everything from scratch, without tracing or anything like that. I took the time to find digital brushes that most closely resembled Herblock’s pencils, and as I was drawing, I tried to follow his style—while still maintaining a bit of my own.
