Narcissism, stupidity, absurdity, grotesque spectacle, violence, machismo... in fact, when we mention all of this, we don’t even know if we’re referring to the movie or to our own reality. For those of you who are curious about the creative process: A while back, a human rights NGO contacted me to illustrate the cover of their report on abuses in the system of psychiatric prisons run by China’s police (Often, human rights activists are forced to become patients, even though they do not have any mental illness and have not been convicted in any trial) Here is the first sketch of what they had in mind. At first glance, it doesn’t look like much, but it already gives an idea of what the final design should look like…
