Once upon this time
When humanity becomes an endangered resource
Dare to care
In today's world, where people don't understand the difference between what's viral and what's vital, cruelty is presented as "strength" and empathy as "weakness," when in reality, it's just the opposite. The prophets of cruelty act out of fear. They are afraid of not knowing how to solve problems any other way and of not being able to compete with others. They are afraid of "losing their place in society." Empathetic people are empathetic because they are confident in themselves and their abilities. They are also aware of the role that others play in their success, as well as their role in the success of others. We must change the narrative that the cruel impose on us if we want our story as humanity to not end in tragedy.
The Sermon
It is truly offensive to faith, intelligence, and even logic how some hypocrites in power commit and allow so many atrocities and then present themselves to believing voters as “Christians” with the same false smile of a hyena declaring itself vegetarian in front of a herd of deer. Those who know, care about, live, and defend what Christianity truly is should step forward and unmask such hypocrites, just as Jesus did with the merchants in the temple. From the archive
So far this year alone, there have been 300 mass shootings in the United States. The most recent one occurred less than a day ago. Yet this real horror receives zero attention from people who see threats even on Sesame Street. This sector's only response is their "thoughts and prayers," which, at this point, sounds more like grotesque mockery than genuine sorrow.
Something else
I almost always prefer my sketches to my finished cartoons. That's why I try to refine my original ideas while maintaining the freshness of the sketch. Sometimes this works out well; other times, it's a real ordeal. Fortunately, the freshness of the original sketch survived in this cartoon's finished version, don’t you think?…
