Is it too early to start with Christmas-themed cartoons? I hope not.
There is something that the sooner we understand it, the better: the more political noise this administration generates, the more serious is what it wants to distract us from, like the high cost of living or the fact that the nation may be facing a healthcare crisis as the Senate rejects the ACA tax credit extension.
Trump’s “peace” prize
The “peace” prize commissioned by FIFA and tailored to Trump’s liking has been the subject of worldwide ridicule. And it’s not just because FIFA, an organization better known internationally for its corruption and manipulation of a sport that, incidentally, causes the most division and violence around the world, has no experience or authority in terms of peace, but also because the recipient doesn’t either. The architects of AI were named TIME’s Person of the Year for 2025. It’s as if the Gotham Times named the Joker comedian of the year. Again, I have nothing against the ethical use of technology, but celebrating a system that steals from the true creators of art, news, and knowledge and twists their content for despicable purposes does not seem ethical at all, much less worthy of honors.
